ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking a Senior Aviation Environmental Planner with proven experience in airport projects to join our Aviation team!

Hybrid Work Opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic Region!

We're looking for a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative Senior Aviation Environmental Planner to support projects across the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and New England regions. With hybrid options available in Raleigh, NC; Richmond, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; and Washington, DC, this role offers flexibility and a chance to work with a nationally recognized company.

Responsibilities

    Project management for complex airport planning studies
  • Research, analysis, and creation of airport environmental and planning documents including but limited to:
    • NEPA environmental fillings
    • Airport master planning and airport layout plans (ALPs)
    • Airport electrification
    • Sustainability, resiliency, and climate change
    • Technical analyses of environmental conditions for example: noise, air quality, stormwater, remediation, etc.
    • Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and eVTOL
  • Assist the Corporate Aviation Market Leader and Regional Managers with business development and provide technical expertise
  • Maintain and grow current client relationships
  • Support business development/new client acquisitons
  • Perform project reviews and quality control audits for deliverables
  • Supervise and mentor team members with minimal supervision

Skills & Knowledge

  • Five or more years of experience in Project Management and contracting (scope and fee development) for aviation projects
  • Experience with monitoring scope, schedule, and budget for contracts
  • Ability to coordinate with other VHB service lines to position for projects at key airports to grow the practice and increase revenue
  • Experience working with FAA and Federal/State/local regulatory agencies
  • Aviation related professional certifications preferred
  • Demonstrable experience with business development and proposal writing
  • Ability to deliver technical innovation and bring extraordinary value to our aviation clients
  • Active in the Aviation industry by being a thought leader and involved in service organizations
  • Actively participate in developing aviation business opportunities throughout the corporate footprint
  • Experience mentoring aviation planning and environmental staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 11+ years of experience in aviation related planning or environmental projects required
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Washington DC is $125,000.00 to $175,000.00. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
