Accountant Senior Cost Accountingin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience working with international sites is a plus. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years prior related experience. Master's Degree in Accounting or Financeor CPA may offset 1 year of experience. Position Purpose: Applies principles of cost accounting with a primary focus on basic review of work performed by accounting staff along with more in depth analysis of cost accounting and inventory data, knowledge of cost accounting and inventory systems, and understanding the inter-company cost transfer processes. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Reviews and analyzes financial data in a timely manner to support established schedules and deadlines. Provide initial review of journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules for closing . Reconciles increasing complex assigned accounts including preparation of appropriate documentation . Prepare analysis and recommend solutions for problems and improvements to existing systems and processes . Prepares schedules, reports, presentations, etc. for management . Works independently following established procedures to perform tasks in all aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require originality and/or ingenuity. Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries. May provide day-to-day guidance to accounting staff. Specific area of responsibility . Applies principles of cost accounting with a primary focus on basic review of work performed by accounting staff along with more in depth analysis of cost accounting and inventory data, knowledge of cost accounting and inventory systems, and understanding the inter-company cost transfer processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, principally Excel is required. Strong technology expertise in other applications a plus.
