Job Summary and Responsibilities
Director of Finance & Accounting will report to the VP of Finance. They will be responsible for leading the finance function of the organization, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting, treasury, and asset management. The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership team and will work closely with the operations teams to support the company's growth objectives, particularly with respect to budgeting, forecasting and M&A activity. They will also work closely with operations to maximize company profits. Preference is for this position to be located in Kennesaw, Georgia but all qualified candidates will be considered. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the company's financial planning and analysis efforts, including participation in the development of annual operating and capital expenditure budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
- Lead a team to be sure that the group is optimizing process, improving visibility, accelerating financial closes, communicating operational and/or financial constraints, and effectively communicating at all levels of management.
- Review daily, weekly, monthly financial results, analyze performance, prepare summary business review presentations for executive management and various ad-hoc analysis and special projects. Provide feedback on results, including communicating risks and opportunities, and recommendations to drive continuous improvement in results.
- Partner with leadership to support operations by developing and maintaining periodic reporting to be used by operations management for purposes of analyzing results of operations and making business and operations decisions about the direction of the company.
- Partner with the team to identify and execute operational efficiencies to support growth of the business.
- Manage the company's accounting function, including the overseeing of the preparation of financial statements, month-end and year-end closing processes, and maintenance of the general ledger.
- Oversee the company's treasury function, including cash management, banking relationships, and debt financing.
- Assist with the management of the company's tax function, including compliance with local and international tax laws, transfer pricing, and tax planning.
- Provide financial reporting within their consolidation reporting tool (ViaReports) and be the leader to address inquiries from the Circet.
- Develop and maintain high functioning relationships with internal partners
- Support M&A strategies and identify opportunities for growth. Assist with post-acquisition integration plans.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Manage and develop a high-performing finance & accounting team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in the telecom or construction industry.
- Proven experience leading the finance function of a complex organization, including experience with M&A.
- Experience with Project Accounting for Fixed Price and Time & Materials projects.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards, as well as local and international tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft AX and/or D365 ERP is strongly preferred.
