Description: What you'll be doing

Another Source's client, The University of Texas at Austin, is recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager to join their Infrastructure team within the Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) department. This role is critical to the successful execution of highly technical, mission-critical infrastructure projects that impact the entire campus.

What You will be Doing:

    Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering and utility projects, including HVAC systems, chilled water, heating, and ventilation infrastructure.
  • Oversee both major ( $10M) and minor (< $10M) capital improvement projects, from planning through construction.
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, budgets, and schedules; prepare reports using project management software such as MS Project.
  • Lead coordination with internal clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders across the UT campus.
  • Ensure compliance with UT standards, local codes, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Administer contracts with architects, engineers, and construction firms.
  • Track progress using FAMIS and other university project management tools.
  • Stay current on industry trends, building codes, and mechanical systems design standards.
  • Support and mentor junior project managers as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or eligibility for reciprocity
  • 5+ years of experience managing mechanical engineering design and construction projects for commercial or institutional facilities
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Construction documents (plans/specifications)
  • Bidding and negotiation processes
  • Life safety and building codes: NFPA 101, IBC, ASHRAE, IECC, ADA, Texas Accessibility Standards
  • Experience with:
  • Microsoft Project, Excel, Word
  • Mechanical infrastructure design and system upgrades

The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000 to $123,000 depending on experience. Relocation assistance is available.
