Internal Communications Manager (Sepulveda) This is a hybrid position based in Culver City, CA with the expectation to be on-site four days per month. The pay range for this role is between $86,031 - $98,936 annually. Summary As an Internal Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement, foster organizational transparency and culture-building, and ensure alignment across the agency. You will also be responsible for managing internal communications channels, crafting compelling content, and collaborating with leadership to ensure clear, consistent messaging across the agency. You will play a key role in supporting leadership engagement and optimizing communication tools to better serve our hybrid workforce. This role reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and works closely with the Chief of Staff, VP of Marketing & Communications and works closely with the Chief of Staff, VP of HR, and JEDI team to create a transparent and engaged workplace culture. Primary Duties
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports organizational goals and enhances employee engagement.
- Oversee executive communications, including leadership announcements, policy updates, and agency-wide messaging.
- Work with leadership to improve engagement through town halls, leadership meetings, and executive site visits, coordinating logistics, content and speakers.
- Recommend and coordinate leadership engagement events that improve the connection between executive leadership and employees, in coordination with the Chief of Staff and Exec Team
- Assist the VP of HR in structuring bi-monthly leadership meetings with strategic content development.
- Consult with leaders within the agency to ensure relevant updates within the agency are communicated across the agency with enhanced communications tools and platforms, such as our SharePoint intranet.
- Develop and manage an internal newsletter, ensuring alignment with communications and design best practices.
- Partner with program leaders to support department newsletters, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and frequency.
- Participate in Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Council meetings, collaborating with the JEDI leads to develop and execute a communication strategy, ensuring their efforts are elevated and incorporated into agency.
- Identify and implement internal communication tools that provide insights into engagement, such as open rates, click-through rates, and other analytics. Craft multi-channel communications to maximize engagement and manage internal communications calendar.
- Responsible for writing and editing copy for the homepage of the intranet, ensuring there is a steady stream of relevant content and resources for staff. Consult with other departments to help ensure their pages are up to date, relevant, and using best practices.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications channels and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of internal communications experience, employee engagement, or a related role, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Healthcare or non-profit industry experience preferred.
- Experience working with hybrid or remote teams preferred
- Experience communicating with diverse audiences about sensitive topics.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage any individual regardless of background.
- Strong attention to detail, including excellent copyediting skills.
- Exceptional at multi-tasking and time management, able to drive multiple pieces of work forward simultaneously while meeting all deadlines.
- Experience managing intranets, newsletters, and other digital communication platforms.
- Familiarity with analytics tools to track engagement and effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Knowledge and proficiency in SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office programs like Word and PowerPoint, Canva and other internal communications tools.
- Collaborative and goal-oriented team player with strong experience working in large and complex systems.
- A commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.
- Current California driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.
