Arete, a leader in advanced technologies and defense innovation, is looking for a Senior Project Scheduler to support mission-critical programs within our Maritime Airborne Systems sector. You'll work closely with program managers, finance, engineering, and operations to build and manage project schedules that drive high-impact deliverables to our U.S. defense customers. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly technical, and mission-driven environment and wants to influence both day-to-day execution and strategic decision-making across multi-functional teams. This position can be based out of our Tucson, AZ or Northridge, CA offices. This is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) aligned with IMP, WBS, and SOW requirements.
  • Track program milestones, deliverables, and critical paths; provide clear risk-based insights to leadership.
  • Lead and participate in schedule reviews, baseline planning, risk assessments, and EVM compliance.
  • Perform Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) using Monte Carlo techniques and advanced tools.
  • Ensure schedules are fully integrated across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance.
  • Collaborate with the Program Finance team to ensure EVMS metrics are accurate and schedule informed.
  • Present scheduling status and variance analysis to senior leadership and customer stakeholders.

Experiences and Background We Look For:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of scheduling experience, or Graduate Degree with 5+ years of experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in DoD project environments and working knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EIA 748-D).
  • Familiarity with Planning & Scheduling Excellence Guide (PASEG) v5.0.
  • Ability to perform Schedule Risk Analysis and use performance metrics (BEI, CPLI, SPI, etc.).
  • Experience integrating subcontractor schedules.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in airborne, maritime, or ISR defense programs.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement and project control standards.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for briefings with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools such as SSI and Monte Carlo risk models.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
