Position Summary: This role is responsible for developing new and managing select high net worth wealth management client relationships. This position is chiefly responsible for working with a broad team of subject matter experts across the firm to attract prospective clients to the firm with services including wealth planning and management, tax planning, investments, retirement solutions and trust services, ensuring superb delivery and execution of the client experience and service standards.

Essential Functions:

* Achieves production and growth goals around client relationships and Assets Under Management, as well as referrals to internal partners.

* Works closely with OPWM teammates, Private Bankers, Commercial Relationship Managers, and other Line of Business partners to identify key prospects and existing clients for new business and/or further relationship development, making appropriate referrals as warranted.

* Develops and cultivates a healthy referral network of internal and external centers of influence to help generate business leads and referrals for OPWM and other Old Point LOB partners.

* Demonstrates proficiency in consultative and advice-driven sales, developing and strategically executing a personal business plan to achieve defined revenue and business objectives.

* Coordinates and collaborates with clients' third party advisors (e.g., attorneys, accountants) to ensure synergy of advisors' recommendations, consistent with client goals.

* Able to assemble, coordinate and lead a team of subject matter experts to develop, implement and execute a sales plan to grow existing client relationships and acquire new clients using team-based solutions to private client wealth management needs.

* Plans, organizes and participates in seminars, presentations and thought leadership events to drive client and prospect engagement with the Firm and its LOB partners. Represents the Firm and provides leadership in key community activities including business, charitable, civic and social organizations and events.

* Provides partners, prospects and clients with information and thought leadership on current trends, developments and information relating to wealth management and financial planning issues and strategies.

* Provides ongoing superior relationship servicing of existing client base, including the resolution of service issues.

* Accountable for the understanding of and adherence to operational controls, policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with bank policies and related laws and regulations.

Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

* Broad knowledge of wealth management, investment, banking, credit, and trust and fiduciary solutions.

* Knowledge of proven sales techniques including needs assessment, probing, handling objections, and closing.

* Intermediate knowledge of investments, taxes, insurance, retirement plans, and their relationship to estate planning.

* Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office with the ability to learn other job-specific software applications

* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management.

* Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and motivating to fellow employees and Line of Business (LOB) partners.

* Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.

* Skill in adopting technological advancements and facilitating into current and future responsibilities

* Skill in discovering and working to meet underlying needs; following through on questions, requests, complaints

* Skill in researching, outreach and making connections with potential and current customers.

* Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively and have positive relationships with customers and co-workers.

* Ability to prioritize a variety of job responsibilities, meet deadlines, and adapt to rapid changes in priorities

* Overall ability to set, pursue, and attain achievable goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstances

* Ability to understand the fundamental knowledge of financial services/investment products and be able to communicate these points to potential customers in a relatable, engaging way.

* Ability to anticipate, monitor, and meet the needs of customers (internal and external) and respond in an appropriate manner.

* Possesses the drive to work towards a standard of excellence.

Education/Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* CFP, JD, CTFA, or CPA professional designation preferred
