THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION

Must be available to work June 9th through August 29th from 8:30am - 4:00pm.

Position Summary:

The purpose of the Camp Coordinator is to assist in the oversight of the programming, staffing, and implementation of the Camp Kroc during the summer season. This consists of implementation, oversight and organization of Adventure and Expedition camps for middle school youth in Camp Kroc. The Camp Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Youth Outreach and Recreation Manager to provide staff development, daily logistics and parental engagement. The Camp Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a culture of encouragement to express the love of Jesus Christ and to reach out to members of the community of all ages and walks of life no matter where they may stand in their relationship with Christ.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with the hiring and supervision of all camp counselor positions with an emphasis to ongoing development
  • Serve as Camp Coordinator for Adventure and Expedition camps at Camp Kroc
  • Work with the Youth Outreach and Recreation Manager to implement and coordinate youth summer camps serving families of the 5 northern counties
  • Serve as the coordinator of logistics and scheduling for all Adventure and Expedition Camp offsite excursions.
  • Coordinate transportation and be the main driver for all middle school camp offsite excursions
  • Purchase supplies and maintain inventory for day camp operations.
  • Plan, coordinate and staff for 10 weeks of Adventure and Expedition Camp
  • Implement and coordinate biblical curriculum for Adventure and Expedition Camps
  • Coordinate volunteers to provide educational activities in youth specific areas
  • Make recommendations for supply purchasing and maintain inventory middle school camps
  • Develop staff professionally through staff meetings and various methods.
  • Facilitate youth programs offered to supplement the needs of the community.
  • Develop standards and assessments for program evaluation.
  • Work with local schools, counselors and individuals to better serve the youth of the area by providing access to all for Camp Kroc
  • Ensure that parents and youth alike view the Kroc Center as a safe area for youth and a place they can turn in time of need.
  • Assist in connecting to the community to raise community awareness of programs/options the Kroc Center may offer.
  • Coordinate with marketing team to develop and maintain content for the website, program guide, banners and other marketing pieces
  • Other duties as assigned.


General Qualifications and Proficiencies:



  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, and 2+ years of youth related, fitness, ministry or organizational experience.
  • Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, computer knowledge, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and energetically with staff, clients, members and customers.
  • Have the ability to work with children, parents and staff in a variety of age groups in a capacity of leadership, counseling and education.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with customers, clients, members and staff.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Must have command of the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Thrive in a team oriented environment. Be a team player.
  • Interpersonal/management skills- ability to supervise, encourage, and coach volunteers.
  • Intimate and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure.
  • Excellent phone and computer skills.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
