Role and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Supervisor/Employment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be a mentor, coach, and advocate for employees with disabilities. You will provide personalized support, life skills coaching, and guidance to our AbilityOne Custodial staff, helping them achieve success in their roles



  • Supervise and support employees with disabilities in their assigned custodial work activities, ensuring they perform tasks effectively and efficiently.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to enhance employees' custodial skills, fostering their independence and success on the job.

  • Offer personalized support services, including coaching on social skills, work behavior, personal hygiene, motor skills, and other essential job performance skills.

  • Develop and deliver individualized training plans tailored to employees' specific needs and abilities.

  • Collaborate with site managers, employers, and customers to ensure effective communication, coordination, and a positive work environment.

  • Monitor and report on employees' performance, challenges, and progress, providing regular updates on their work, productivity, and personal development.

  • Maintain detailed records on employee progress, performance, and support, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) or similar frameworks.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports, including monthly updates, participant progress reports, and case notes, to keep stakeholders informed.

  • Ensure compliance with educational and support plans and implement necessary adjustments to maintain progress.


Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Demonstrated experience working in the human services field providing mentorship, support, or coaching to individuals with disabilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to provide individualized coaching and support tailored to each employee's specific needs.

  • Experience in creating and implementing training and development programs.

  • Must obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance and pass a CI polygraph.


Preferred Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related.

  • Familiarity with AbilityOne program requirements and working with individuals with disabilities in a workplace setting.

  • Knowledge of workplace accommodations and legal requirements related to employment of individuals with disabilities.

  • Experience with behavior management techniques, particularly in a work environment.

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as cleaning supplies.

  • Spend long hours standing and walking during cleaning tasks.

  • Frequently bend, kneel, and crouch to clean floors, surfaces, and restrooms.

  • Perform repetitive tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.

  • Hand -eye coordination for operating cleaning equipment and tools.

  • Reasonable accommodations can be made.


Environmental Demands:



  • Work in various environments, including offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas.

  • Possible exposure to heat, cold, rain, or snow while performing outdoor tasks.

  • Use of cleaning chemicals; must follow safety guidelines.

  • Exposure to noise from cleaning equipment and machinery.
