Human Resources Generalist
Your main responsibilities
AsHuman Resources Generalist for Area North, you'll be responsible for providing exceptionalHR Services in support of the Field Operationsfor Area North, which spansfrom Seattle to Chicago to Pittsburgh, and includes a total of 17 Northern US States. You'll function as liaison to the Field Operations Area North leadership team, our District and Branch Offices, and to our Sales, Operations and Services support teams and will provideemployee relations support in alignment withour Schindler Elevator business strategy and talent developmentand management objectives. You'll have broad responsibility and accountability for delivering consultative HR supportincluding performance management, employee/career development, talent acquisition/recruiting, compensation, benefits counseling andgeneral support to address employee relations and legal compliance issues. You will also work closely and collaboratively with the CoE HR teams; Total Rewards, (Compensation, Benefits, Relocation and HRIS), Talent Acquisition, Organization Development/Talent Management, and Labor & Compliance Programs to ensure effective delivery of customer service and support to Area North. Position Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues and help foster an effective, productive, progressive and positive manager/employee "Winning Team" environment.
- Responsible for administration and support of the Schindler employee performance management process, including performance objectives setting, employee development plans, and the execution of Performance Reviews, and Manager-Employee Coaching sessions are taking place for each of the 1600+ employees in Area North.
- Works with Leadership to identify and support justifiable employee promotions, and employee movement, (position re-assignment and transfers), within the Area, and to other Field Operations Areas, and to Headquarters functional roles, as appropriate. Coordinate Approvals for employee change as needed and execute accurate and effective employee change requests to HRIS.
- Supports the creation and submittal of new employee requisitions in the Success Factors recruitment management system; Ensures that all required data elements for Requisition are complete fully, to enable Field Operations Requisitions to move timely through the approval process.
- Oversee the Talent Acquisition requirements end to end (requisitions, interviews, hiring, offers), as well as assist with onboarding; Includes support to university recruiting efforts for sales, superintendent, and project Management Development program candidates
- Provides support to employee relations counseling, terminations, exit interviewing, and outplacement counseling, as directed by the Area HRBP.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Participate and maintain relationships with local labor/union organizations where needed.

Your Experience
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related curriculum is required; Master's Degree in Human Resources, an MBA, and/or the PHR/SPHR certification would be a plus.
* Successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience, supporting a Construction, or Field Services, Product Manufacturing, Operations/Sales organization, with a strong desire to support a multi-site, distributed workforce environment, that has a primary focus on exceeding customer needs & expectations, and the safety of, and employee development of the sales, operations support, and field services teams.
* Experience in the Elevator, Distribution, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related Commercial Construction Project or buidling equipment industries would be a plus.
* Must be able to work in a matrixed team environment, and have excellent organizational/project management skills.
* Ability to operate in a fast paced enviornment and adapt to constant change.
* Must possess advanced computer software proficiency with MS Office, (Excel PowerPoint and Outlook), and have ability to use HRIS tools efficiently.
* Flexibility to travel domestically, 30-40%
