Inventory Planner

What you will be doing:

The Inventory Planner will assist in the system-wide inventory and supply management for all perpetual and PAR managed (stock and non-stock) across NYC Health + Hospitals' acute, long term and ambulatory facilities, for the purpose of increasing efficiency in Supply Chain Management and, as a result, enhancing NYC Health + Hospitals' ability to provide patient-centered quality care.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Planning #1- 60%

  • Reviews usage of stock supplies for NYC Health + Hospitals' acute, ambulatory and long-term facilities.

  • Forecasts demand and stocking strategy for supplies based on usage, supply availability and seasonality.

  • Coordinate all inventory data tasks with Materials Management team: Central Office + Facilities

  • Reviews stock-out / early warning reports to plan for inventory outages accordingly.

  • Liaises with suppliers, distributors, materials managers and end-users to ensure proper adequate stocking, minimize over-stocking and avoid shortages and outages.

  • Collaborate with supply chain teams, vendors and end users to assist in the identification of substitute items.

  • Manage stocking levels in Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system

Materials Management Support y #2 - 20%

  • Support the implementation of various Materials Management projects

  • Serve as an IT liaison by understanding and interpreting business requirements

Other Responsibilities #3 - 20%

  • Participates in departmental and team meetings, internal/external quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) activities and programs, and facility-wide training, as required.

  • Acts in compliance with all regulatory requirements, to ensure safe working environment.

  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Inventory Management

  • ERP implementations and maintenance

  • Previous healthcare, supply chain, Peoplesoft or materials management experience

  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

  • Ability to develop and maintain databases for project and department functions

  • Detail oriented work ethic, with strong communication critical thinking and analytical skills.

Experience:

  • Appropriate full-time teaching experience in an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience and appropriate full-time teaching experience in a position of professional rank may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required supervisory, administrative or consultative experience

  • Previous healthcare, supply chain, Peoplesoft or materials management experience

Education:

  • Master's degree in public administration or business administration, or in an equivalent or equally acceptable program, and 4 years of satisfactory, full-time, paid experience or

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of experience

  • 6 years of appropriate general experience may be substituted for a Baccalaureate degree requirement.

Working Conditions: Hospital Environment Travel Requirements: No travel required Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $64,000 - $118,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
