The vision of the department is to provide programs and services to the anteater community in a manner that meets or exceeds the standards of excellence of the University. Your Role on the Team Under direction of the Custodial Supervisor and Lead Custodian, the incumbent performs semi-skilled, skilled cleaning and custodial services to the Anteater Recreation Center. These duties are performed for the majority of their time which require a greater degree of training, skill, independence of action, physical effort and/or experience than that typically found at the Custodian level. Incumbents operate vacuum cleaners, carpet extraction equipment, stand on vacuum cleaners, stand on scrubbing equipment, shampoo machines, wet/dry vacuums, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines during stripping, waxing, buffing and/or other related cleaning operations. Locker room cleaning and sanitation, kitchen cleaning, fitness equipment cleaning, cleaning of fixtures and furniture, interior trash removal, window cleaning, and additional tasks as necessary to ensure all facilities are maintained at a high level of cleanliness. Responsibilities may include overtime. May include after-hours emergency responses and cleaning. Make reports on building and/or equipment needs. Have security responsibility of one or more assigned areas.
