Your Role on the Team

Under direction of the Custodial Supervisor and Lead Custodian, the incumbent performs semi-skilled, skilled cleaning and custodial services to the Anteater Recreation Center. These duties are performed for the majority of their time which require a greater degree of training, skill, independence of action, physical effort and/or experience than that typically found at the Custodian level. Incumbents operate vacuum cleaners, carpet extraction equipment, stand on vacuum cleaners, stand on scrubbing equipment, shampoo machines, wet/dry vacuums, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines during stripping, waxing, buffing and/or other related cleaning operations. Locker room cleaning and sanitation, kitchen cleaning, fitness equipment cleaning, cleaning of fixtures and furniture, interior trash removal, window cleaning, and additional tasks as necessary to ensure all facilities are maintained at a high level of cleanliness. Responsibilities may include overtime. May include after-hours emergency responses and cleaning. Make reports on building and/or equipment needs. Have security responsibility of one or more assigned areas.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $20.46- $23.53 (Hourly).

Required:

  • Knowledge of methods, materials, chemical disinfectants, and equipment used in custodial work.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain various cleaning machines and equipment.
  • Ability to learn and follow safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work well with the public and department staff.
  • Ability to learn security procedures.
  • Ability to report damage to building and equipment.
  • Skill in general custodial responsibilities.

Preferred:

  • Six months of experience in a custodial cleaning operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Special Conditions:

  • Must accept a work week beginning at 4:00am and ending at 12:30pm, Thursday - Monday including occasional overtime.
