Advantage xPO is hiring a new Building Engineer to join our team and take charge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of essential building systems for a nationally recognized leader in integrated Facilities Management. If you have HVAC expertise, strong mechanical skills, and a proactive attitude, we want to hear from you!

Position Details:

Location: Dallas, TX

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay: $30 - $35 per hour (based on experience)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Essential Functions:

As a Building Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within our facilities. Your work will include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and overseeing contractors and utility mechanics to maintain a well-functioning, safe environment.



  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including filter changes, lubrication, and control checks.
  • Repair and replace HVAC components such as bearings, motors, dampers, and heat exchangers.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, valves, and drain lines.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Oversee maintenance operations, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
  • Monitor and maintain water treatment programs for open and closed loop systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and hazardous materials handling.
  • Respond to service calls and emergencies, taking immediate action to resolve issues.
  • Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with operations management, tenants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Keep engineering areas, shops, and storage rooms clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications & Skills



  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in HVAC, facilities engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Universal HVAC certification required or active enrollment in an HVAC program.
  • Technical Skills: Trade school certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or automation/control systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and site maps.
  • Knowledge of fire-life safety, emergency generators, vertical lift equipment, and overhead doors.
  • Experience troubleshooting BMS, BAS, and central plant systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with tenants and management.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work in various environmental conditions.
