Your Role on the Team

Covered under University series concept / job specification for classification 4723. Under general supervision works on operational and/or procedural assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving procedural issues. Makes recommendations to improve processes and/or procedures.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • The incumbent makes sure that all related documents are accurately sorted and separated to ensure the appropriate billing needs and processes are addressed according to a complex set of guidelines for each client, and or payor.
  • Responsible for coordinating the receipt of all of the respective billing and systematically maintain a constant and accurate log to effectively process copy requests.
  • Responsible for the systematic organization and archival of all received documents.
  • Inclusive in this process is sorting and identifying and segregating billing based on patient diagnosis, insurance carrier and or referring provider to facilitate the appropriate billing process for identified clients.
  • Responsible for reviewing charges by verifying the insurance information is correct and update as needed.
  • Additionally, they are responsible for clearing claim errors, and making sure authorizations match all codes being billed and submitting retro authorizations if needed.
  • Identifies any adverse process trends, takes appropriate steps to correct, streamline the process or to close loopholes in areas of improvement and maintains Billing Manager abreast of all workflow.
  • Develops and maintains Excel logs and keeps abreast of business flow as it pertains to the boarding or termination of client contracts.
  • Responsible for sorting daily correspondence and key entering denial codes in the respective patient accounts.
  • Accountable for the accurate and effective scanning process of all assigned scanning. Ensures that all clinical documents are accurately batched prepped and scanned to facilitate accurate archiving and prompt retrieval.
  • Assists the billing process with the creation and submittal of invoices to a variety of entities as needed.
  • Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Pay Rate: $24.66/hr

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience experience in an administrative, clerical, or operations role.
  • Experience with computer applications, such as microsoft word, excel and powerpoint.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
