In this role, you will report to Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel - and our customers - to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. What we're looking for
Education: High School Diploma or GED required Experience: 2+ years' experience in material handling/inventory replenishment Knowledge of scientific products and services a plus Collaboration Tool: Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel Preferred Qualifications: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in inventory management and scanning technology. Effective communication skills for team coordination and updates. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Valid Driver's License or CDL required Travel required from building to building.
How you will thrive and create an impact Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
Prepare and set up plates runs for laboratory tests and experiments. Create labels for lab reagents, ensuring accuracy and proper application. Use an RF scanner to scan and organize laboratory items in stockroom locations. Adjust inventory levels based on scanned data and deliver items to the correct locations. Monitor team chat for updates on delivered items and plate runs, responding quickly to any issues. Manage inventory tasks, including consumables, chemicals, and samples, ensuring accurate control and handling of requests. Handle hazardous materials and manage shipping documentation and packaging. Assist with updates and training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Preventive Maintenance Procedures (PMP), and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols. Use Avantor and customer systems (e.g., SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW) to fulfill job duties. Inspect the master stockroom and autoclave room, making necessary adjustments to meet safety standards.
