Job Purpose: The Procurement Packaging Category Manager position, based in Cincinnati and reporting to the Head of Indirect Materials & Services, focuses on developing regional strategies for sourcing packaging materials according to the business plans of the Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty divisions. You will emphasize sustainability projects aimed at reducing carbon footprints and minimizing single-use plastics. Main Responsibilities: Source Strategy: - Implement and adapt regional category strategies within the overarching global framework to ensure agreement on Givaudan's goals. - Provide strategic direction to local procurement teams, enhancing their capabilities in category management and supplier management. - Conduct analyses of market trends to identify new sourcing opportunities and manage potential risks associated with supplier relationships. - Lead sourcing events and negotiations, ensuring a diverse vendor mix that meets our quality and sustainability standards. - Manage supplier performance, integrating sustainability considerations into our packaging strategies to promote responsible sourcing. Portfolio Management: - Negotiate competitive pricing structures and establish best practices for contract management to improve our procurement processes. - Collaborate with Packaging Engineers and teams to drive improvements in our packaging portfolio, ensuring innovation and efficiency. - Analyze market conditions to provide insights on pricing and availability trends, enabling informed decision-making. - Cultivate and manage key supplier relationships, leading performance evaluation processes to ensure alignment with Givaudan's standards and expectations. Partner Relationship: - Lead packaging governance meetings, fostering collaboration and enhancing communication channels among stakeholders. - Contribute to sustainability and responsible sourcing projects, reinforcing Givaudan's commitment to environmental stewardship and ethical practices. Cost Optimization and Business Planning: - Prepare comprehensive initiative plans that align with business budgets and strategic goals. - Develop and implement cost reduction projects, leveraging market forecasts to drive financial efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications: - A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or economics is required; a master's degree is preferred. - A minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a strong focus on packaging sourcing and strategy development. - International experience is highly valued, along with fluency in English to facilitate effective communication across global teams. - Demonstrated strong project management skills, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI and SAP to support data-driven decision-making.
