Job Duties: Vice President, Research/PM Support with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Conduct financial statement analysis, covering income statements, balance sheets and cash flows, with pro-forma analysis for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), spin-offs, demergers and joint ventures. Build, update, maintain and analyze financial models to conform with Firm standards and practices using industry and company analysis, create valuation models and screens using valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Relative Valuation, and Sum-of-the-Parts Valuation. Perform bottom-up financial research on companies in the Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Real Estate and Education sectors and provide recommendations as to whether or not GSAM should invest our client's capital in those names. Follow sector names across all market caps in the news, utilizing Bloomberg or other market data providers. Meet with company management teams and sell-side analysts, as well as industry experts and macro strategists. Attend industry conferences. Development and refinement of proprietary Asset Light Valuation technique and associated summary report used globally by the Emerging Markets Team. Must be willing to work with proprietary tools and technologies, but no knowledge of a proprietary tool and/or technology is required pre-hire. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: performing portfolio management to generate absolute returns and/or exceed benchmark returns; investing in Emerging Markets equities; implementing and constructing portfolios to maximize returns and lower risk using risk analysis frameworks; explaining financial concepts to clients and stakeholders; presenting research analysis, recommendations, and implications of investment decisions for senior leaders; utilizing advanced features of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-lookups, Scenario Analysis and basic macros to minimize manual processes and efficiency when building, maintaining and updating financial models; and using vendor market data providers such as Bloomberg. Travel Required: Domestic and international travel is required approximately 20% of the time in order to attend industry conferences, engage with management teams and perform site field trips.
