Summary Sambatek is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Survey CAD Technician/Project Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality survey documents and supporting a variety of land development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in survey drafting and an excellent understanding of land surveying principles and CAD software.
- Work Location: Hybrid to Minnetonka, MN office or remote within Minnesota
- Expected Compensation Range: $35.00-50.00 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
- Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed survey drawings, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, subdivision plats, parcel and easement descriptions, and tree inventory surveys
- Efficiently plan and produce CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Research and gather data for new and ongoing projects, ensuring thorough and accurate information
- Process and interpret survey data collected in the field and translate it into high-quality deliverables
- Create and interpret 3D surface models with precision and clarity
- Read and interpret property legal descriptions, easements, and plats
- Collaborate closely with planners, project managers, and engineers to ensure seamless project execution
- Provide daily support and direction to field crews on ongoing projects
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of survey-related AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Experience with Trimble Business Center preferred
- Associate degree in a land surveying-related field and/or formal CAD training preferred
- Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) or Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) license preferred
- Solid understanding of field survey procedures and equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Earth Pro
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
