Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Fuels Procurement Engineer to work on our Quality and Procurement Engineering team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every Friday off. You will report to the Manager of Quality and Procurement Engineering. You will provide quality and procurement engineering oversite of new reactors, and MFC facilities. The Fuels Procurement Engineer applies engineering principles to the procurement of items and services for nuclear facilities, including structures, systems, and components. This role provides engineering support during design, analysis, procurement, fabrication, and installation, ensuring that procurement and oversight incorporate the correct technical and quality requirements necessary to assure that items and services will perform their safety and design functions. The position also involves understanding supplier interfaces and processes to facilitate the delivery of items and services, being part of the INL Nuclear Nexus. Responsibilities Include:
- Expert knowledge of engineering, procurement, and quality acceptance requirements as defined in NQA-1 and related industry codes, standards, and guidance.
- Ensure technical requirements and additional requirements necessary to assure adequate quality are incorporated into procurement documents (e.g., specifications, commercial grade dedication plans, salient features lists, statements of work, drawings, vendor data schedule, Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA's), strategic partnership project (SPP), Technical and Functional Requirements Document (TFR),Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP), and Quality Implementation Plan (QIP).
- Author procurement specifications and commercial grade dedication plans.
- Participate in the design and design reviews of systems, structures, and components.
- Provide procurement engineering support to ensure the continued operational readiness of systems, structures, and components.
- Collaborate with design engineering and suppliers to ensure the manufacturability of designed items.
- Work with multiple organizations to select and develop the appropriate procurement strategy.
- Ensure technical and additional quality requirements are incorporated into procurement documents (e.g., specifications, commercial grade dedication plans, salient features lists, statements of work, drawings, vendor data schedule).
- Support procurement execution from award to supplier audit, review of vendor data, supplier surveillance, receipt, and acceptance of items and services. Aid in supplier qualification and evaluation for inclusion on the INL qualified supplier list.
- Perform oversight activities such as surveys, source verification, source inspections, and audits.
- Support the operating or maintenance activities of nuclear facilities to ensure efficiency and conformity to design requirements.
- Perform alternate item equivalency evaluations.
- Lead the identification of conditions adverse to quality and develop corrective actions to address identified conditions.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 3: Bachelor's engineering or a directly related engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution and 5 years of experience. Master's engineering or a directly related engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution and 2 years of experience. PhD engineering or a directly related engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution and 2 years

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Advanced degree in engineering or a directly related engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Experience writing commercial grade dedication plans, specifications, and exercising technical oversight of procurement actions.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($93,204 - $191,076) / Level 4 ($111,888 - $229,284). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
- Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
