Job Summary:

Prof. Filiz Yesilkoy's group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a biophysics research scientist position to join our team. This position will involve close collaboration with other research groups at UW-Madison as part of the PANTHER Program, which focuses on studying traumatic brain injuries. The candidate will contribute to efforts aimed at defining neural impact tolerances and identifying injury-associated biochemical markers at the cellular and subcellular levels.

The successful candidate will be expected to independently process and analyze images and data using modern statistical methods, collaborate on scientific publications, and contribute to literature reviews. The candidate will be customizing data analysis tools and writing scientific papers.

Education:

Required
PhD
Focus in biophysics or closely related field required.


Qualifications:

Required
-Minimum 4 years of research experience post PhD degree in biophysics, medical physics, neurophysiology or closely related field
-Minimum 4 years of experience in working with and customizing data analysis tools
-Proven track record of publishing scientific papers

Preferred
-Experience in electrophysiological studies of ion channels in cell membranes, biochemical imaging techniques, and traumatic brain injury research


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
