The Equipment Technician maintains and repairs company tools and equipment, and may assist in warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, transporting, order fulfillment, and inventory control while adhering to Webcor safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoots to diagnose problems; repairs and performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
  • Modifies and tests equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability.
  • Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance to determine nature of problem and recommends appropriate solutions.
  • Safely operates forklifts, reachlifts, scissor-lifts, service vehicles, and other equipment while adhering to company and governing safety standards.
  • Ensures that equipment is in a safe and working condition, incorporating Lock-Out/Tag-Out methods when required.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems involving the isolation of the malfunctioning parts, disassembly of equipment, and repair/replacement of faulty components.
  • Ensures materials, equipment, tools, and company property are properly secured against theft.
  • Aids it the evaluation of new company equipment.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Prior working experience with construction equipment, tools, and accessories preferred.
  • Computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) a plus.
  • Ability to update and review daily maintenance logs.
  • Experience performing parts purchasing and receiving using company software (ToolHound) preferred.
  • Experience documenting generated hazardous waste (used oil, fluids, etc.) preferred.
  • Past use of equipment manuals, websites, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to aid in troubleshooting and repairing of tools and equipment preferred.

LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to represent Webcor Equipment in a professional manner while working with vendors, suppliers, and project team members.
  • Proven ability to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines with changing tasks and demands.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified on Reachlifts, Forklifts, Scissor-lifts, and other construction equipment preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of construction experience and/or equipment repairs/maintenance preferred.
  • Valid CA driver's license for vehicle with clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction, and at the company's equipment yard and warehouse. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, push and pull, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Also, to sit, talk, hear, stand, climb balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift parts and objects up to 75 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on both construction sites and the equipment facility where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, grease and lubricants, solvents, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Range of hourly base pay is $35.00-$45.00. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
