Work on some evenings and one weekend per month required. Job Summary The Community Support Specialist facilitates client participation in activities that promote physical wellness, social connection, mental and emotional well-being, and engagement. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive, run, walk, sit, and stand; reach with hands and arms; communicate verbally, see clearly, and hear effectively. The employee may occasionally lift or move durable medical equipment, supplies, or groceries weighing up to 30 pounds. The employee may frequently assist participants with maintaining balance and transferring to and from a wheelchair and/or vehicle. The employee must be able to walk up and down flights of stairs, drive regularly, and remain alert at all times. Staff may be required to engage in physical activities such as bowling, golf, tennis, basketball, or other sports. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet or moderate, but the employee may be exposed to a loud work environment on occasion.
