Senior Heat Pump Product Engineer III - Plymouth, MN - Hybrid Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Heat Pump Product Engineer III who will support key product initiative as approved by the Applied Air Handling Unit Value Engineering and Sustaining team. - Perform enhancements of (Air-Source) Heat-Pump products utilizing current and emerging: refrigerant, heat transfer, compressor, and control technologies
- Provide Sustaining Team expertise on mechanical refrigeration system, air moving system, and associated control sequence to meet Product performance specifications and Program timelines
- Provide specification, design, selection, qualification, functional & reliability validation testing, documentation, and rating of purchased and self-manufactured components, sub-systems, and units, including supplier or manufacturing processes
- Direct activities of CAD Designers, Lab Technicians, and other Engineers associated with assigned Projects. Motivates development of innovative product features or manufacturing processes
- Provide Project leadership by coordinating cross functional Teams through the defined steps for the Daikin Applied Value Engineering process
- Effectively apply development processes and techniques (DFMEA, PFMEA, DOE & Test Plan, FEA, DFM/A, Technical Design Reviews, Risk Assessment, Gantt charts, etc.) to ensure timely Project delivery and meet Product functional, cost, and quality objectives

Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 year Degree in Engineering (prefer Mechanical Engineering)
- 5 years experience with heat-pumps
- 4 years demonstrated project or team leadership/management
- Excellent communication skills
- Refrigeration system competency
- PC skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with design process and stage gate project management process
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 year Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Focus on Design or Fluid Dynamics)
- Capabilities in following areas: applicable Safety Standards, filtration technology, safeties and electronic controls, power transmission, noise and vibration, filtration, heat exchangers, psychrometrics, electrical power distribution, variable power supply (VFD) devices, manufacturing equipment, and sheet metal design & fabrication.
- Refrigeration system capabilities in following areas : applicable Safety Standards, filtration technology, safeties and electronic controls, power transmission, noise and vibration, filtration, heat exchangers, psychrometrics, electrical power distribution, variable power supply (VFD) devices, manufacturing equipment, sheet metal design & fabrication
- Ability to speak or read Spanish
- CAD, FEA, or CFD skills

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $101,100 - $129,300 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
