Job Description: The Associate Director, Operational Expansion & Integration will spearhead initiatives to expand and integrate operational capabilities and capacity projects within the existing facility. This role is crucial for driving the integration of new technologies, aligning operations with strategic growth objectives, and enhancing overall productivity, efficiency, and scalability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary liaison between operations and facility expansion teams, ensuring operational requirements are incorporated into facility design and capacity planning.
- Actively participate in planning and design meetings, providing operational and financial insights, including workflow optimization and space utilization.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
- Capacity Planning & Expansion:
- Develop and maintain capacity models to forecast future operational needs based on business growth and market demand.
- Evaluate current equipment and processes for scalability and identify potential bottlenecks as production scales.
- Lead efforts to optimize the operational footprint during facility expansion, ensuring production continuity and minimal disruption.
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure that new equipment and processes are integrated smoothly.
- Technology Integration:
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies that can enhance operational efficiency, including automation, IoT, and data analytics tools.
- Create a strategic roadmap for technology integration, prioritizing initiatives based on potential impact, cost, and operational readiness.
- Oversee pilot testing, implementation, and scaling of new technologies across the production environment, working closely with IT and engineering teams.
- Monitor the performance of new technologies and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal functionality.
- Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives focused on continuous process improvement and operational efficiency, particularly in the context of new facility or technological expansions.
- Implement process improvements to optimize both existing and new workflows, ensuring alignment with new production capacities and technologies.
- Conduct regular reviews of operational processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team.
- Workforce Development & Change Management:
- Collaborate with HR and operational leaders to develop training programs that upskill the workforce in response to new technologies and processes.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth integration of new systems and workflows, minimizing resistance and maximizing efficiency.
- Provide ongoing support and training to employees to ensure they are proficient in new technologies and processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage resistance to change and ensure a smooth transition.
- Sustainability & Environmental Impact:
- Ensure sustainability practices are incorporated in facility expansion and technology integration efforts, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and adherence to corporate environmental goals.
- Collaborate with the sustainability team to develop and implement initiatives that reduce the environmental impact of operations.
- Monitor and report on the environmental performance of new technologies and processes.
- Promote a culture of sustainability within the operations team.
- Revenue Generation & Cost Reduction:
- Explore new ways to use existing capabilities to generate new revenue streams by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to upgrade or modify equipment to reduce costs or win new business, ensuring that changes are implemented efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the financial impact of potential changes.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to identify and pursue new revenue opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or related field required.
- Minimum 10 years of related Managerial Leadership experience required.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement senior leadership.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
- Microsoft Office.
- Production Planning.
- Pharmaceutical experience with Aseptic Filling preferred.
- Executive Leadership Exposure preferred.
- Capital Expansion Projects strongly preferred.
Shift: Day Compensation:
- The salary range for this position is $115,500 - $200,100 depending on experience.
- Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role.
