Position Purpose:
The Assistant Vice President of Information Technology Service (AVP of ITS) is responsible for providing strategic and technical insight for the MECU ITS department under the guidance of the VP of Information Technology Service. This position will also contribute to the budgeting and planning of network systems as well as maintenance and support. The AVP of ITS will work collaboratively with other business units and Third-party vendors. The position oversees technology governance for decisions and solution development, develops processes and procedures, and provides guidance and leadership for the technology service area. The AVP of ITS will also work closely with functional areas on organizational projects and initiatives. In addition to operational management, this role will involve senior IT leadership and internal business stakeholders to understand business and customer needs and assess, propose, and implement technical solutions that align with and facilitate these needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- The AVP of ITS provides direct input in developing strategic objectives and operational outcomes of technology services and is accountable for the implementation of standard processes and procedures for technology service components within the MECU organization.
- Manages and ensures compliance and system SLAs are meeting performance levels.
- Provides leadership for continuous improvements throughout the Network security and Tier1 support team.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff to enhance team productivity and ensure operational objectives are achieved.
- Participates in network analysis, design, and planning activities to determine equipment requirements. Make recommendations on network hardware and software, and formalize installation/implementation procedures.
- Communicates with stakeholders regarding system status, service updates, planned outages, unplanned disruptions, and service delivery issues.
- Leverage project management skills and tools to manage and monitor technology projects to ensure compliance with defined policies and technical standards.
- Troubleshoot interruption of network services and/or software applications within the MECU organization.
- Assist with the preparations for disaster recovery planning for consistent business operations.
- Conducts problem analysis of systems as needed to ensure proper implementation and operation of network systems and Third-party resources.
- Ensure MECU services, systems, procedures, and processes are properly documented and maintained regularly.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of the Credit Unions disaster recovery plan
- Use patch management services to develop, document, and implement strategic processes to maintain MECU's network environment and services running within the infrastructure in a timely manner.
- Identify the most efficient and effective use of both in-house and outsourced services for applications, data centers, computing, information security, data and voice networks, storage, systems, and infrastructure services.
- Manage the design, documentation, implementation, and daily operations of a reliable, secure, optimized, efficient, and scalable network that supports the delivery of exceptional Member and employee experiences.
- Manage production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation, and effective communication with Business Units and/or Third-party vendor.
- Execute security management tasks including the monitoring, installation, and activation of malicious software protection tools, applying security protocols to network connectivity, managing user identity and logical access, and providing security data as needed when investigations arise.
- Identify new technologies necessary to support a high-tech, high-touch business strategy and develop recommendations and business cases where necessary for presentation to senior management.

Required Skillset & Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
- 10+ years' experience in IT
- 5+ years' of relevant experience in the Network environment with a Credit Union or other financial institution
- 3 to 5 years of management experience
- Related IT Industry certifications of leading technologies such as Microsoft Azure Infrastructure administration, Cisco CCNA or better, VMware VCP, security -related certifications, or equivalent experience
- Experience managing and securing cloud-hosting environments, including laas, SaaS and PaaS
- Experience developing project plans and managing projects in a banking or financial services organization
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive alignment
- Ability to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision-making.
Compensation
Salary Range bi-weekly, depending on experience and qualifications

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the successful candidate is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, keyboards or controls; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop or kneel.
Must regularly lift and/or move files and equipment up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pound objects. Specific vision characteristics required by this position include close vision, adjust focus, and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
