Description

Senior Manager of Total Rewards & Compensation

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Senior Manager of Total Rewards & Compensation to join our Human Resources department. The Senior Manager of Total Rewards and Compensation will establish our organization's compensation and total rewards programs that support a diverse workforce of top talent, guiding us to achieve our strategy and mission. As a key contributor, the Senior Manager position will lead the strategic design, implementation and administration of our organization's compensation, total rewards, job architecture, base pay, variable incentives and benefits.

This role manages and evaluates the benefits, compensation, Human Capital Management system (HCM), payroll functions and assigned staff for the organization ensuring adherence to and coordination of all organization and legal requirements.

Schedule: Full-Time. Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Hybrid role with two days on site. Must be flexible to come into office as needed.

Location: Ames Impact Center: 3000 Ames Crossing Road Suite 600, Eagan, MN 55121

Hiring Range: $96,200 - $108,200 annually, plus $1,000 hiring bonus for external candidates. Salary varies on qualifications and experience.

Main Job Duties:

A.) Develop, implement and lead a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with our organizational goals and ensures competitive and fair compensation practices that attract and retain talent.

  • Develop, drive and deliver annual roadmap, calendar, and project timelines for all key Total Rewards programs, aligning resources and communication planning.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in total rewards and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor Total Rewards programs to ensure alignment with business objectives, and HR priorities, and ensure consideration to longer-term organizational strategies and market developments
  • Implement programs and policies that align with best practices and partner on technology solutions to deliver these Total Rewards programs
  • Deliver a job evaluation system and compensation philosophy that supports organizational needs, specifically with respect to attracting and retaining talent. Define market competitive salary ranges and incentive targets, and assess the competitiveness of current compensation to highlight any gaps
  • Oversee all aspects of compensation programs, including job architecture, salary structures, bonus plans, long term incentives, recognition programs and other incentive programs.
  • Lead successful annual compensation planning & administration including but not limited to timely execution of annual merit, promotion, and bonus cycles, ensuring alignment with performance standards.
  • Partner with talent acquisition, HR, and finance to align pay ranges for new roles and guide compensation strategies as the company scales.
  • Provide thought leadership to the business on compensation issues including new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, retention arrangements, and overall compensation structure.

B.) Provide leadership and coaching to a team of Total Rewards professionals, building bench strength and coordinating the work activities of staff pertaining to benefits, compensation, payroll, and HCM administration. Attract and retain high quality staff providing training, assessing strengths and development needs, and providing timely and specific feedback and helpful coaching.

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of human capital management systems.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues and manage the HCM and organizational payroll processes and procedures.
  • Manage the annual compensation cycle, with a focus on improving the delivery and creating an efficient process.

C.) Design and evaluate benefit and retirement plans to ensure plans are competitive, cost-effective and aligned with organizational goals.

  • Ensure the benefits and retirement programs are competitive, cost-effective, well administered and communicated to employees
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure exceptional service delivery, continuous improvement and beneficial contract terms
  • Promote employee understanding of benefits, retirement, leave and compensation programs by creating communication materials to support employee needs
  • Manage the benefit enrollment process which includes training, communication and execution of annual open enrollment, wellness programs and preparing and distributing benefits materials to newly eligible employees. Includes acting as the main point of contact for any escalated benefit related matters with third party vendors.
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements of People Incorporated and all relevant government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Affordable Care Act (ACA) and assisting with all audits, year-end processing, mailings, and other unscheduled compliance filings.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives and current benefit, compensation, and payroll standards.

D. Leverage data analytics to assess compensation effectiveness, identify trends, and provide insights on attraction, retention, and cost control.

  • Use advanced analytical skills to turn data into actionable recommendations.
  • Proactively seek to improve processes, raising quality and productivity through efficiencies or by implementing best-in-class solutions; makes process changes to existing ways of working to significantly improve results
  • Monitor effectiveness of compensation and benefits policies, guidelines and procedures; recommend plan revisions as well as develop new plans that are market competitive, cost effective and consistent with developing and maintaining a high-performance culture
  • Evaluate and align programs with business strategies and recommend best-fit solutions.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and 3 years post-degree work experience, including at least two years leading a team and managing strategic objectives.
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree 7+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years leading a team and managing strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to complete projects on time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - a team player who can act as both a leader and an individual contributor, as required
  • Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to quickly pivot when priorities change
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Experience navigating HCM systems and creating or improving processes to leverage technology
  • Dedicated to providing an exceptional employee experience with a focus on educating employees through regular communication efforts
  • Planning and organizational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities with tight timelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, SHRM Total Rewards Specialty Credential, or CEBS designation preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with prior human resources experience within a not-for-profit environment.
  • Paycom HCM experience preferred
