Get to Know Your Team:

  • Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services.

Responsibilities

  • The pharmacy resident will actively participate in the provision of pharmaceutical care and the decision-making process of providing patient services and will attain the knowledge, skills, and understanding to participate in these activities.
  • The resident's assignments, rotations, and other planned activities will contribute to the resident's management of priorities, time, resources, and activities external to the residency.
  • Responsibilities include medication order processing and dispensing, monitoring appropriateness of medication therapy, MAR accuracy, medication storage and adequacy, providing staff education, patient teaching, compliance with laws and rules governing pharmacy practice, compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, suggesting, writing, and updating polices, investigating incident reports, and monitoring departmental maintenance.
  • The pharmacy resident will be held to the rules and requirements as dictated by the ASHP accrediting body for residency programs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.

  • Active Pharmacist or Intern license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy (Required within 120 days of start date).

  • Other applicable state requirements - i.e., sterile compounding, etc.

  • BLS certification (must be attained within 90 days).

  • ALS/ACLS certification (must be attained within 90 days).

  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
