Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

Job Summary

The Corporate Senior Manager position requires an individual that is detail-oriented, highly motivated with strong communication, technical, and organizational skills. This key position is responsible for managing two direct reports that make up the accounting team for the Corporate entities and ensuring on-time submissions and accuracy of actual, forecast and plan data. The success of this role should directly result in a reduction of the company's risk profile from a financial statement perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Review all balance sheet account balances and reconciliations for the Corporate entities to ensure all accounts are reconciled and appropriately stated in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Manage the monthly close and financial reporting processes, identify risks and opportunities, and ensuring necessary accruals are recorded.
  • Oversee the accounting for stock-based compensation for actuals, forecast and plan.
  • Manage the accounting for Kontoor's general, workman's compensation, property and medical insurance programs, which includes collaborating with the risk management and human resources teams and ensuring appropriate account balances are maintained at each accounting period.
  • Build strong, sustainable relationships and effectively communicate with cross-functional groups including: Finance, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Risk Management and the regional businesses.
  • Motivate, engage and develop staff, and prepare them for succession opportunities
  • Manage the process for reporting forecast and plan for cost centers within the Corporate entities, which includes following guidance communicated from FP&A, meeting with cost center managers, entering data in SAP, reporting plan in Group Reporting and preparing for reviews with management
  • Assist the Corporate Controller by researching technical accounting topics

Experience

  • Public accounting experience required

Education and/or certification requirements

  • CPA preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

Skills

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate complex transactional activity
  • Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and managerial concepts and principles
  • Results-oriented with ability to handle competing priorities and requests
  • Strong team player with ability to collaborate with numerous functional groups
