Supplier Quality Engineer Supervisor

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Supplier Quality Engineer Supervisor will oversee day to day activities and help Supplier and Production Quality manage mission critical priorities. The Quality Engineer Supervisor monitors, inspects, and evaluates products to ensure predetermined quality standards are met. The Quality Engineer Supervisor develops and updates testing-related documentation, including test cases, plans, and flaw-reporting procedures. The Quality Engineer Supervisor provides quality assurance support to the product development team, resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Defines daily mission critical tasks for the Supplier and Production Quality Engineers
• Report and follow up on key KPI's for the Supplier and Production Quality Engineers and provide to the Quality Manager
• Reviews design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products.
• Ensures products meet the organization and customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
• Supports product development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
• Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
• Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
• Perform other assignments as instructed by their manager.

LESS FREQUENT RESPONSIBILITES

• Must be willing to occasionally travel to mines, supplier locations, etc. which may include overseas travel.
• Periodically work with production personnel during assembly and testing of the rigs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering is preferred
• Minimum of 3+ years of management experience in a manufacturing production role
