Job Summary
#48xnursing The incumbent is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic good will for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. The incumbent provides licensed medical support to medical care providers as a vocational nurse for the department/clinical team to which it is assigned. The incumbent is supervised by a licensed physician or registered nurse when performing duties within the vocational nurse scope of practice. The incumbent works under the direction of clinic/department management for administrative purposes, including customer service, professional behavior & development, assignment & scheduling of work, and performance of job functions not requiring supervision by an LIP. This position functions under the direction of a clinic manager (practice manager or nurse manager) to supervise a group of employees and provide accountability as delegated for the day-to-day operations of the designated clinic location(s). - Valid current California licensure as a vocational nurse.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- Must pass UCDH Pharmacology and Venipuncture verification exams.
- If required by position, must provide proof of valid IV Therapy Certification and must pass the UCDH IV Therapy verification exam.
- Must provide documentation of graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing, or completion of education and experience as a corpsman in the United States military.
- Minimum two (2) years LVN experience.
- Recent pediatric experience.
- No Minimum Work Experience Required
- Comprehensive knowledge of LVN scope of practice, patient care standards, relevant regulations, and clinic policies.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, including performance management, training, evaluation, and HR-related documentation.
- Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare software.
- Demonstrated operational skills to manage complex clinic workflows and multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to effectively work with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to convey clinical and technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop staff
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and dynamic clinic environments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
