Benefits Analyst

Huntsman is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst - Retirement Plans supporting the Human Resources Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Compensation and Benefits Sr Manager.

Job Scope

We are currently searching for a Senior Benefits Analyst - Retirement Plans whose primary responsibility will be to manage Huntsman's defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

In summary, as the Senior Benefits Analyst - Retirement Plans, you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of Huntsman's defined contribution plans
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of Huntsman's defined benefit plans which includes one Cash Balance plan and two union pension plans
  • Work heavily with recordkeepers to ensure accurate benefits administration and compliance of plans.
  • Manage annual compliance requirements including annual audits, Form 5500s, SAR mailings, AFN mailings, Non-discrimination testing, SOX testing and 401(k) match true-up.
  • Responsible for 401(k) funding of multiple payroll cycles. Work closely with Huntsman accounting and Payroll teams on reconciling intercompany charges.
  • Work with payroll to update annual Defined Contribution limits. Run Monthly reports and review for any limit issues.
  • Work with ADP and Workday/Accenture on any file integration issues or updates.
  • Set-up and maintain any DB/DC reports in ADP.
  • Assist with updating Summary Plan Documents (SPD's) to ensure they are current with plan changes and new legislation.
  • Interact with corporate and field HR representatives to resolve benefit issues and answer questions.
  • Work with recordkeeper on plan-related projects such as plan mergers, plan provision updates and implementation on new compliance requirements.
  • Work as member of the Benefits team and participate in Health and Welfare activities and projects as needed.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management or other related Business Administration field of study with 4-8 years professional experience administering qualified plans.
  • CEBS designation desirable.
  • Health and Welfare experience a plus.

Skills and knowledge

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Strong vendor management and customer service skills.
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.
  • Aggressive, self-starter who can work independently as well as within teams.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have a strong Microsoft Excel background.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
  • Must have strong knowledge of ERISA, DOL and other regulatory requirements.
  • Must have strong professional experience administering qualified benefit plans.
  • Must be knowledgeable in benefit plan terminology.
  • Experience with Fidelity PSW, ADP Vantage payroll system, Workday and benefits administration preferred.
