The basics of this position:

Responsible for all aspects of coaching the district-wide intercollegiate athletic team in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region 16, including but not limited to recruiting, coaching and administrative duties. Responsible for complying with policies and procedures set forth by St. Louis Community College, NJCAA, NJCAA Region 16, and MCCAC.

What you'll do:



  • Coordinate the home and away scheduling for district-wide intercollegiate athletic team.
    Coordinate practice planning, game-day operations and team travel.
  • Make recommendations to the athletic director regarding program facility needs.
    Monitor the district-wide team's operating and travel budgets; maintain record-keeping procedures. Purchasing and management of equipment pertaining to the team. Arrange for team transportation and travel with assistance from the Athletic Director.
  • Monitor athletic eligibility, including academic progress of student-athletes.
  • Coordinate athletic recruiting and scholarship awards for district-wide intercollegiate athletic team.
  • Perform supervisory functions for district-wide intercollegiate athletic team.
  • Explain and enforce College policies, safety rules and regulations for district-wide intercollegiate athletic team.
  • Maintain certification for CPR; First Aid; Mental Health First Aid and SafeCollege Training Courses.
  • Supervise and Coordinate team fund raising activities with prior approval from with Athletic Director
  • Conduct annual youth camps.
  • Knowledge of NJCAA policies and procedures; knowledge of department policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions; and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations; a neat appearance and appropriate apparel are required.
  • Attends NJCAA/MCCAC/Region 16 meetings, conventions, and trainings to learn about industry trends, changing standards and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education, experience, and other requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years' college coaching experience.
  • A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured to drive college vehicles required.
