We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join the Salesforce AI Research Incubation Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge AI-driven web applications using Next.js, React.js, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks/libraries. You will work closely with researchers, backend engineers, and product teams to bring AI research innovations to life through robust and scalable frontend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly frontend applications using Next.js, React.js, and modern CSS frameworks, potentially using Python

  • Collaborate with AI researchers and product teams to translate complex AI research concepts into intuitive user interfaces.

  • Optimize web applications for speed, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow.

  • Implement best practices in frontend architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization.

  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and advocate for high-quality software development standards.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in frontend technologies, AI, and user experience design.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in frontend development, including expertise with React.js and Next.js.

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind, Styled Components, or similar).

  • Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, Recoil, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend integration.

  • Proficient in dev tools: Git, CI/CD system such like Jenkins

  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, accessibility standards, and security best practices.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced research-driven environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AI-driven applications or research-based projects.

  • Familiarity with design systems and UI/UX principles.

  • Experience in server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) with Next.js.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio demonstrating frontend expertise.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,000 to $236,500. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
