Splunk Systems Engineer, Lead Associate

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in Splunk who will design and develop software solutions by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users and other system engineers. The team provides support to the Intelligence Community of the front-end collection sites across multiple types of midpoint accesses to include cloud and containerized architecture as well as providing cyber defense for unique boundary protection through automated behavior.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Design and implement software solutions to complex problems.
• Develop software system installation or build procedures or scripts.
• Analyze and resolve system performance issues (e.g. response time or timing problems, interface/integration problems, system bottlenecks, data flow issues).
• Build a new Splunk instance to replace an existing system's capabilities and make improvements / modernize it including:
• analyze requirements
• design and size Splunk architectures
• craft ingest capabilities
• data modeling
• solutions development
• dashboard designing
• Splunk Enterprise Security administration.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience. Four (4) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience performing systems engineering activities and assisting in the preparation of work products in Technical Process Areas.
• Ability to develop analytics.
• Experience building a new Splunk instance to replace an existing system's capabilities and modernize/improve; including: analyzing requirements, designing and sizing Splunk architectures, crafting ingest capabilities, data modeling, solutions development, dashboard designing and Splunk Enterprise Security administration.
• Active Splunk Certified Architect or Splunk Accredited Consultant certification.
• Experience using Python and Javascript.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

• Experience with Networking Protocols and Standards.
