Role and Responsibilities:


CW is seeking a proactive and detailed orientedJanitorial Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations while actively participating in the work alongside the team. The manager will lead by example, supervising and training staff, handling inventory, and maintaining safety and sanitation protocols.



  • Manage a team of custodial workers, including individuals with disabilities, overseeing daily operations, performance evaluations, attendance, leave requests, and disciplinary actions.

  • Implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in cleaning tasks.

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor custodial work, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to standards.

  • Report any building repair needs and maintain confidentiality of documents and data.

  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and requisition supplies when necessary

  • Ensure all custodial workers follow health and safety standards, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, biohazards) in accordance with OSHA or other relevant regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

  • Inspect work in progress and upon completion, addressing any issues as they arise.

  • Order and maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and materials needed for cleaning.

  • Manage a cleaning budget, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective practices while keeping inventory up to date.

  • Act as a point of contact for facility users or customers to report cleanliness concerns.

  • Take swift action to resolve any complaints or issues regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.

  • Communicate clearly with team members and upper management to address concerns such as equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or customer dissatisfaction.

  • Occasionally use mobile phone to coordinate after-hours coverage and emergency responses, such as flood cleanups or blood pathogen cleanup.

  • Provide hands on training for custodial team on the proper use of cleaning equipment and materials, ensuring safe practices and high cleaning standards.

  • Regularly evaluate team performance and provide feedback to promote continuous improvement


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of (2) years' supervisory or team lead experience.

  • Minimum of (2) years' Janitorial experience.

  • Knowledge of how to address specific cleaning needs for different surfaces, flooring, and materials.

  • Understanding of various cleaning techniques, equipment, and the safe use of cleaning chemicals.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning, including OSHA standards.

  • Must have a valid driver's license


Preferred Skills:



  • Ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team of janitors and cleaning staff.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle diverse teams and maintain positive working relationships.

  • Experience in delegating tasks, setting priorities, and managing schedules effectively.

  • Ability to spot areas that need improvement and maintain high cleaning standards.


Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as cleaning supplies (up to 50 pounds).

  • Spend long hours standing and walking during cleaning tasks.

  • Frequently bend, kneel, and crouch to clean floors, surfaces, and restrooms.

  • Perform repetitive tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.

  • Good hand-eye coordination is required for operating cleaning equipment and tools.

  • Reasonable accommodations can be provided.


Environmental Demands:



  • Work in various environments, including offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas.

  • Possible exposure to heat, cold, rain, or snow while performing outdoor tasks.

  • Use of cleaning chemicals; must follow safety guidelines.

  • Exposure to noise from cleaning equipment and machinery.
