Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Fire Alarm Technician to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Service, Troubleshoot & program burglar alarms, fire alarms, closed circuit television, & access control systems
  • Ensure equipment is functional and operational
  • Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
  • Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
  • Provide technical support to customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
  • Interact professionally with customers
  • Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
  • Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate action
  • Perform test and inspect fire alarm systems
  • Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:



  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience with servicing fire alarm systems
  • Valid Driver Licenses required and acceptable driving record
  • NICET Level II
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic computer/tablet skills
  • Experience in the commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of Fire Alarm Systems (Siemens)
  • Working knowledge of local and national Fire Alarm codes/standards
  • Preventitive maintenance as well as installation
  • Most work will be completed in NYC, so ability to commute to that area - company vehicle will be provided to take home
  • Basic knowledge of national and local alarm codes including NFPA 72, NEC, & New Jersey Building Code
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility in being on time, regular consistent work attendance, excellent communication and completing all necessary field documentation as needed
  • The ability to carry and climb step/extension ladders where needed and lift objects up to 50 pounds when needed


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Manufacturer certifications preferred (ex. Siemens, Notifier, Honeywell, Bosch)
  • Experienced in basic programming of Cerberus Pyrotronics/Siemens Fire Alarm Systems
  • NICET II Certification. National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies for Fire Alarm Systems, Level II
  • Basic Electronics Certification. Military, Trade School, etc.



Salary: 38/hr - 40/hr
