Job Description: The Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI will develop, support, and enhance applications. Work with development teams for requirement analysis and address dependencies. Use spark development framework to create and manage ETL workloads and Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps. Review data models developed by application teams to ensure alignment with best practices. Migrate applications from on-premises to cloud and from cloud to cloud. Program using Python, Spark, and SQL. Participate and contribute to solutions engineering group to address gaps in current and future designs. Document best practices, develop POCs, and review code written by other developers. Evaluate and optimize existing ETL workflows which exceed defined SLAs. Provide consultation and recommendations to development team on business deliverables. Develop software using AWS and Databricks. Database and data warehouse modeling. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Salary $108,568- $189,540 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field plus 5 years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation. Experience must include 4 years with each of the following: (1) designing and implementing end-to-end ETL pipelines; (2) development in AWS and Databricks; (3) migrating applications from On-premises to Cloud or cloud-to-cloud ; (4) Programing in Python, Spark, and SQL; (5) Power BI or Power Platform; and (6) Database modeling or data warehouse modeling.
