Scientist II - Protein Biomarkers Category: Life Science Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-383336 Scientist II - Protein Biomarkers External ID # 383336 Ridgefield, CT- ONSITE 12 month W2 contract (with potential to extend or transition to perm) Pay rate: $38-42/hr - Depending on Education and Experience Summary: The Immunology & Respiratory Diseases Department seeks a Scientist II to join our Ridgefield, CT, Protein Biomarker Team. The research team supports protein biomarker discovery by applying immunoassays, cell culture, and flow cytometry. The group utilizes innovative technology to evaluate and characterize patient cohorts for novel disease insights and new therapeutic modalities while delivering validated Phase I Clinical biomarker assays. Responsibilities: Perform lab duties initially under supervision. Participate/assist in the execution of routine and non-routine experiments. Initiate, operate, and complete lab experiments and operate and be responsible for using lab equipment. Communicate work orally and in writing, provide input for scientific reports, and treat data with high integrity and ethics. Comply with all applicable regulations, safely perform all work, and maintain proper records following SOPs and policies. Skills or Requirements: Basic lab experience in a biology lab Experience with ELISA and mammalian cell cuture Ability to operate laboratory equipment and apparatus Agile in learning innovative technology and concepts Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information Ability to troubleshoot Good written and verbal communication skills Experience working in an immunology/biochemistry lab environment is desirable Education: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of research experience in a biology lab setting or Master's degree in a relevant scientific area, e.g., immunology, biotechnology, biochemistry, medical laboratory science.
