Introduction
Are you a skilled automotive mechanic with a strong commitment to maintaining and repairing vehicles? We are currently seeking a qualified Police Mechanic to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our fleet of police vehicles and related equipment. As a Police Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and reliability of our vehicles, supporting our police department in their critical operations. This position is responsible for the performance of skilled tasks in repairing, installing and maintaining automotive and related equipment.
40 hour work week; will include evening and weekend shifts to support the 24/7 operational needs of the Police Department. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school or vocational school; and 3 to 5 years of experience at the trade or journey level as an automotive mechanic.

SALARY, BARGAINING UNIT & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT This is a "General Fund," tested position. This position is included in a collective bargaining agreement with
Local 424, Unit 128, UPSEU.

General Funded hires into this class shall not be covered by Social Security but rather the City pension, contributing 9% of salary.
