Basic Purpose

The Senior Inside Sales Account Manager will manage a sales territory of existing customers. The Senior Inside Sales Account Manager is responsible for building a long-term, value-based relationship with accounts and will develop and manage a territory plan that provides growth consistent with strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to establish strong relationships via phone, and identify and close additional business opportunities.

This position reports to the Manager Inside Sales.

Position Responsibilities



  • Meet and exceed territorial sales goals on a monthly and quarterly basis through developing and expanding the existing customer base.
  • Establish strong relationships with current customers through inbound calls, outbound calls, and written channels.
  • Focus on customer retention and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customer technical support and consultant services to increase our overall value to the customer.
  • Introduces new material to customers and provides education on the use of applications.
  • Calculates quotes and negotiates price, delivery, and terms of sale
  • Collaborates with multiple internal departments to ensure exceptional customer experience
  • Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Manages an assigned geographic territory with regard to 'bottom line' growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for business development with material processors, OEMs, specifiers, and design firms.
  • Ability to travel and attendance to industry relevant trade shows to develop relationships is essential.

Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)



  • Bachelor's degree (Technical Science, Chemistry preferred but not required).
  • Minimum of 5+years of sales experience.
  • Previous plastics sales experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated solution-based selling and quota achievement in a complex fast-moving sales environment preferred.
  • Relationship selling/consultative sales experience preferred.
  • Able to establish strong working relationships and able to persuade/influence others.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities, responsibilities, and business needs within a short timeframe.
  • Demonstrated success in sales and well-developed business acumen.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint as well as CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com.
  • Business-to-business (B2B) sales a plus.
