About The College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Arts & Sciences is currently accepting applications for a full time Program Manager, to assist with the operational oversight of the Discovery Amplified initiative, the goal of which is to empower A&S faculty, trainees, and staff to achieve their research and scholarly goals.

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Job Overview

With limited supervision, plan, evaluate, conduct, coordinate and/or manage elements of multiple or complex research, education, and service projects in coordination with faculty, staff, and/or trainees. Mentor level 1 or 2 employees. At any time, duties can span a broad range of activities or be primarily focused within one or more areas within the Discovery Amplified scope.

Essential Functions

* Serve as an initial point-of-contact with whom trainees, staff, and faculty can engage for Discovery Amplified services and resources

* Consult with diverse, multidisciplinary teams made up of trainees, staff, and faculty to assist with the operationalization of projects and optimization of partnerships,

* Coordinate and implement Discovery Amplified events for trainees, staff, faculty, and/or community outreach

* Generate communication and outreach materials relevant to Discovery Amplified initiatives

* Develop and manage database(s) for tracking Discovery Amplified performance metrics

*Working with the Research Director:

*Act as a liaison with trainees, staff, and faculty to facilitate new partnerships and build bridges between institution resources and interest groups

* Help trainees, staff, and faculty with the organization and generation of grant application materials

* Partner with institution leadership to develop and distribute policies and procedures outlining best practices for research education and the responsible conduct of research

To ensure the continued success and growth of the unit, participate fully as a vital member of the Discovery Amplified team:

* Attend meetings as assigned

* Complete continuing education and training programs as assigned on continual basis

* Complete other duties as delegated/assigned

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

* Training, certification(s), and/or experience using strategies to create environments to empower a diverse group of end-users, promote psychological safety, and sustain a culture of inclusive excellence

* Experience working directly with individuals from a range of career tracks and perspectives within an academic community, including faculty, undergraduates, graduate students, and/or postdoctoral trainees

* Familiarity with and ability to adapt to multiple academic settings and colleges

* Excellent written communication skills, particularly as it relates to developing outreach and promotion materials

* Experience in collaborating with trainees, faculty, and/or staff in organizing and generating grant application materials

* Skilled in scheduling, event coordination, and logistics planning

* Comfortable working in and facilitating others meeting in virtual, hybrid, and in-person settings
