Job Summary

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and management of transportation services, including paratransit scheduling and dispatching, alternative transportation programs, and customer service resolution. This role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient, reliable, and high-quality transportation services for students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, the Coordinator supports transit operations through data analysis, reporting, and quality assurance checks to maintain and enhance service standards.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Schedule and dispatch paratransit services to ensure timely and efficient operations, meeting ADA compliance and customer needs.

Job Duty 2 -
Assist the Transportation Specialist/Programs Planner in overseeing alternative transportation programs, including data collection, reporting, and program evaluation. Participate in marketing and outreach events to educate the campus community about transportation programs and services. Assist with micro-mobility program management.

Job Duty 3 -
Collaborate with the transit contractor and internal teams to investigate and respond promptly to complaints related to fixed routes, on-demand, and paratransit services.

Job Duty 4 -
Analyze passenger counts, on-time performance, and other transit metrics; prepare and distribute accurate monthly and ad hoc reports.

Job Duty 5 -
Ride daytime and evening shuttles periodically to inspect internal and external vehicle conditions and perform quality assurance checks.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in transportation, urban planning, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Two or more years of job-related experience. At least two years of experience in transportation operations, hospitality, or a related field.

Required Qualifications:
o Excellent communication and customer service skills
o Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
o Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data reporting
tools

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
o Familiarity with transit management software and dispatching tools
o Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and quality assurance processes
o Experience in paratransit scheduling or ADA-compliant transportation services
o Prior experience in a college or university parking and transportation department
o Knowledge of alternative transportation programs, including bike-share, carpooling, micro-mobility
management, and ridesharing

o Ability to analyze and interpret transportation data to identify trends and inform decision-making
o Commitment to enhancing the campus community's access to sustainable and efficient
transportation solutions

KNOWLEDGE
o Familiarity with ADA regulations and compliance requirements for paratransit services
o Knowledge of transit operations, including fixed-route, on-demand, and paratransit services

SKILLS
o Skilled in resolving customer complaints with professionalism and tact
o Strong presentation and public speaking skills to support outreach and marketing efforts

Pay Range $23.02 /HR - $31.30/HR

Due to the responsibilities of this position, this role requires an onsite presence on Georgia Tech's Atlanta campus (100%).

Work Shift: 8:30 am - 5pm
