Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Lead Sourcing Specialist to join our team in Holland, MI. As a Lead Sourcing Specialist you will:
Cultivate and manage a diverse supplier base and partnerships, both domestically and internationally, across range of product types to promote mutual growth and implement new strategies, with a primary focus on project business. Responsible for identifying, developing, and executing business strategies, product development, selection, and vendor negotiations for specific categories. Collaborate closely with the Architectural Solutions team and Haworth dealers to drive sales, increase gross margin, and ensure a seamless customer experience. Develop competitive supplier plans for each product category that are customer-focused, region-specific, and adaptable to sales plans based on competition, business needs, and industry trends.
Essential Functions
- Supplier Management: Evaluate and introduce new suppliers while building and maintaining established relationships; manage vendor onboarding and timelines, negotiate contract terms, and ensure continuous supply chain performance.
- Oversee creation of project pricing, ensuring guidelines and profitability goals are met. Provide strategy coaching on list discount, cost-plus pricing models, margin, and markup. Ensure NET pricing submittals include labor pricing and applicable sales tax.
- Procurement Growth Strategies: Implement strategies to grow relationships with suppliers, support product plans for growth, and develop procurement strategies for assigned commodities.
- Competitive Market Analysis: Provide expertise on the competitive landscape, conduct market analysis, identify market opportunities, and recommend product changes.
- Supplier Performance and Quality Assurance: Analyze supplier performance, monitor vendor quality, ensure compliance with organizational standards, and initiate corrective actions.
- Cost and Inventory Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities, implement strategies to reduce procurement costs, track purchases, and maintain a current database of vendor information.
- Continuous Improvement and Reporting: Monitor and report business performance, recommend actions for development, lead cost reduction activities, and prepare competitive analysis reports.
- Control Cost Modeling Input: Oversee and manage the cost modeling input process, ensuring accuracy and consistency, especially for supplier price contracts during new product introductions or price adjustments.
- Facilitate Cost Model Design: Lead cross-functional teams in designing and defining cost models, manage data input, and ensure that systems are populated with accurate and relevant information to support business operations.
- Facilitate Data Quality Resolution: Proactively identify and address data quality issues, collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers to implement effective solutions and maintain data integrity.
- Ensure Accurate and Timely Data Management: Manage and load data into various systems, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness to support business operations and decision-making.

- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, finance, operations management, information management, construction management or equivalent.
- Education Equivalency:
- Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,
- High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.
Work Experience:
- 7 years related experience with Bachelor's Degree OR 5 years related experience with Master's Degree.

Additionally:

Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of supply chain experience inconstruction materials and building products preferred.
- 4 years of commodity management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of operational structure of construction, architectural, and building firms; workflow analysis and management; budgeting; and cost estimation/project life cycle.
- Experience in product development or commercial construction.
- Experience in office furniture, primary construction, or closely related industries.
