Responsibilities

    Legal research and analysis: Thoroughly researching legal issues, case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to assigned cases.
  • Document drafting/review/negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and partners, including sales agreements, supply contracts, leases, and service agreements. Ensure the contracts are legally sound, protect the company's interests, and are compliant with applicable laws.
  • Corporate Governance: Advise management on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder meetings, and compliance with corporate bylaws and regulations. Draft minutes, resolutions, and other documents related to corporate governance.
  • Litigation/Claim management: Managing case files, work with external counsel to handle claims and legal proceedings.
  • Training and Education: Provide training for employees on legal topics.
  • Enforcement and Collections: Assist with drafting demand letters regarding enforcement of various contract terms and collection of outstanding balances.
  • Collaboration with CLO: Working closely with CLO to develop legal strategies and receive feedback on work product.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Must be admitted to The Florida Bar or be authorized to serve as house counsel by The Florida Bar.
  • 1-2 years of legal practice experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Flexibility and adaptability

Potential areas of focus:

  • Corporate law: Contract drafting, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions
  • Litigation: Case management and working with external counsel.
  • Real estate law: Contract review, including leasing and subordination agreements.
  • Employment law: Advising on employment issues.
