Assists in performing various patient care activities and related functions in the procedure room under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs scope reprocessing duties in the scope room. Essential duties and duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Responsible for transporting of patients. Responsible for cleaning stretchers.
    • 1.1 Discharges patients in a timely manner as observed by supervisor. Cleans all stretchers with Caviwipes after each patient use.
  • 2. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.
    • 2.1 Cleans shelves weekly according to established department procedures as observed by supervisor.
  • 3. Performs daily cycle cleaning duties in the procedural room to provide a clean area in which endoscopy procedures can be performed. Performs daily cleaning duties in the admitting, PACU, and waiting/reception areas to provide a clean environment for all patients and staff.
    • 3.1 Correctly follows housekeeping procedures for sanitizing and disinfecting the endoscopy room suites as observed by supervisor.
  • 4. Performs scope reprocessing duties in the scope room.
    • 4.1 Performs prewash procedure at the bedside per protocol.
  • 5. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.
    • 5.1 Participates in new personnel orientation as observed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Good interpersonal skills, Must have command of English language (both reading and writing).

PHYSICAL DEMAND

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are occasionally required to sit. They must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
