About the team

Worldpay aims to ensure that consumers experience successful transactions every time they spent. To support this goal, Worldpay is establishing a dedicated team focused on Authorization Rates.

This team is a key pillar within our Authorization improvement efforts at Worldpay. In this role, you will be responsible for a global team focused on driving improved payment performance for our merchants made up of product managers, data analysis and data engineers. The team will drive development of the authorization optimization in line with best practices, user feedback, data science - driving innovation for our merchants, as well as developing critical auth tooling and dashboards.

The team will require a leader who is equally comfortable with collaborating with wider business stakeholders and optimizing in line with business priorities, as they are engaging in technical content and guiding an engineering team on optimization vision, feature and issue prioritization, and driving swift progress.

What you will be doing

Manage life cycle product planning activities and high quality delivery of Worldpay products, enhancements and releases to market. Defines product roadmap to meet market requirements in support of product line strategy by considering position in life cycle, product profitability, pricing strategies, client satisfaction and sales success rate.

You will be directly managing a team of product and data resources.

Key areas in which you will add value:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Shape and own the product roadmap and vision for authorization tooling, taking inputs and user-feedback from internal key stakeholders
    • Own the creation and prioritization of the product backlog for the suite of products
  • Guide engineers to deliver enhancements, fixes and features that are rapid in frequency and drive business value
  • Ensure blockers to development are identified and addressed (with escalation as needed)
  • Own progression of developments & features through to product ionisation, working with engineering teams
  • Lead the future development of new standalone tools within the Authorization tooling roadmap (e.g., Near-time alerting)
  • Create and own definitions of key authorization metrics used across the tooling (e.g., calculation approach for re-tries)
  • Drive adoption of Authorization tools
  • Define release planning cycle for the team, and engage with wider business PI planning timelines to ensure any required capacity is allocated
  • Analytics and Insights:
    • Monitor usage statistics of authorization tooling to understand adoption and take appropriate action as needed
    • Use analytics to identify areas for improvement, bottlenecks, and opportunities
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Support a collaborative culture across the new Authorization structure, working closely with other team leads to avoid a siloing of the tooling capabilities
    • Establish and develop a strongly performing team driving continual enhancement of tooling suite
    • Create a dynamic and flexible culture, with responsibilities and prioritization evolving as new tooling is added to the suite

What you bring:

  • Experience in managing technical products & teams
  • Background comprising business understanding as well as expert understanding of high-quality technical product delivery
  • Experience leading the stand-up & development of a new team, ideally with a product-focus
  • Deep understanding of payment industry and all elements of authorization pathway (e.g., gateways, platforms, acquirers, networks, issuers, etc.)
  • Exceptional leadership & communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or other related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Knowledge and experience of Worldpay platforms and data architectures
  • Knowledge of Agile and Design Thinking
  • Basic experience in SQL and Snowflake

The pay range for this full-time position is $160,480.00 - $269,610.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
