Job Summary

This position assists the department Information Technology Technical Associate with diagnosis and repair of parking technology devices such as electronic parking meters, handheld citation devices and printers, automated license plate readers, and associated equipment. This position will also assist in generating reports from various parking software programs, fulfilling data requests, compiling historical parking data, and maintaining procedure documentation.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$17.25 per hour


Required Qualifications

1. Work experience or education in Information Technology hardware and software troubleshooting similar to what would be gained in a help desk environment.
2. Work experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic Access.
3. Ability to analyze and design data reports.


Preferred Qualifications

1. Strong communicating skills.
2. Customers service orientation.
3. Database knowledge.
4. Experience troubleshooting and making minor repairs to business equipment such as point of sale devices, printers, or other electronic or electro-mechanical devices.
5. Knowledge and understanding of university and department processes and procedures.


Work Hours

May work up to 28 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday


Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

1. Remain at workstation for extended periods.
2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Special Instructions for Applicants

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.

Be specific on your work history, including employment dates (if part-time you must list the number of work hours) and duties for all positions held. Applicable part-time work experience will be considered toward qualifying for this position; however, it will be converted to a full-time equivalency to determine combined length of experience.
