The Department of Studio Art at the College of Charleston invites applications for a one-year, non-renewable Visiting Assistant Professor position in New Media & Technology with a Sculpture Focus, beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will have an
MFA with a focus in sculpture and a secondary focus in new media. They will also have a demonstrated competency in computer-based fabrication and an interest in developing projects for sculpture courses related to new technologies. This position also requires the ability to teach various sculpture topics such as 3D design, metal fabrication, and woodworking. An ability to teach our general education art course and upper-level interdisciplinary courses is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants with two years of college teaching experience beyond a graduate assistantship.
Teaching responsibilities: a 4/4 course load, teaching introductory to advanced sculpture courses and a general education humanities art foundations course to undergraduate Studio Art majors and non-majors. Includes departmental service.
