Job Title: Payroll and Tax Compliance Specialist

Pay range: $50-$58.68/HR Overview: Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll and Tax Compliance Specialist to join their team. This position is crucial in ensuring accurate tax reconciliations, payroll processing, and third-party vendor payments, with a focus on compliance in multiple regions, including the US, Canada, and Latin America. As a key member of the team, you will utilize advanced technology and analytical skills to improve processes, reduce errors, and support various payroll operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly tax reconciliations, vendor payments, and other payroll-related tasks for the US, Canada, or Latin America, including large data set analysis.
- Execute batch processes in payroll systems, ensuring that payroll, vendor, and government reporting deadlines are met for off-cycle employee payments, tax payments, and audits.
- Compile payroll information for legal, governmental, and insurance-related requests.
- Develop and analyze complex ad-hoc and routine audit reports to support payroll operations, management, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide support for vendor and payroll system setups, troubleshooting issues, and answering system-related questions.
- Utilize advanced technical skills to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce processing times while enhancing accuracy.
- Research state and local withholding requirements to ensure proper tax setup for new and existing employees.
- Manage employee and employer batch tax reconciliation and adjustments at the federal, state, and provincial levels.
- Support employer tax filings and payments with relevant agencies.
- Handle AMR Pay Requests and Vendor Invoice submissions and tracking.
- Document and test payroll operations processes in ADP, Workday, and other payroll systems.
- Analyze and address payroll errors, system failures, and compliance audits, particularly in relation to SOX.
- Contribute to ad-hoc reporting, projects, and analysis related to US, Canada, and Latin American payroll operations.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (advanced to expert level) is required.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to various payroll systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and identify resolutions.
- Knowledge of gross-to-net payslip calculations, employee benefit programs, and tax implications.
- Experience with federal and multi-state tax rates, calculations, reporting, and filing is essential.
- A keen focus on employee experience and data accuracy.
