Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity on the bank's marketing team! The Marketing Manager works closely with the Marketing Director to develop strategies and marketing initiatives for designated markets, divisions and lines of business focusing on consumers, small businesses, and the home loan division. This role serves as a strategic business partner driving strategy, channel coverage and key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing efforts. The Marketing Manager develops and executes effective marketing strategies that support the business units' goals and objectives. The role requires close collaboration with other Marketing team leads to develop, deploy and optimize customer engagement by leveraging marketing channels, insights and innovations, while staying true to the Washington Trust Bank brand. This position is a senior-level strategic business partner to their designated markets and business lines. The Marketing Manager will develop relationships with business partners that facilitate growth and leverage opportunities.

Location: Tower East - 12th Fl 601 W 1st Spokane, WA 99201. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

Essential Functions:



  • Lead major projects and oversee marketing plan executions spanning several business partners.
  • Serves as project manager and target market authority within a client group.
  • In partnership with business units, drive the development of planning documents and marketing strategy.
  • Champion smart, strong, and creative strategies while effectively representing the customers' and the bank's business units at all phases of the work.
  • Initiate and oversee client deep-dives and additional research.
  • Identify opportunities to add more value to client work and serve as a leader in problem solving with client concerns as needed.
  • Key project manager on assigned business unit strategies and projects, including project intake, creative strategy, sign-off and kick-off to internal production and creative teams, and continual project follow-up.
  • Manage communications and approvals at appropriate stages of a project, keeping all stakeholders involved and informed.
  • Drive synergy between all functional teams (digital, PR & social media, insights, creative, media, etc.).
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans in partnership with the Marketing Director and to support customer acquisition, retention, and the goals and objectives of the markets and business units.
  • Develops and manages cross-channel marketing programs that elevate the bank's brand reputation and create increased demand for products and services and the bank.
  • Collaborate and confer with internal marketing partners to execute all strategies and work efforts including - Digital, events, PR and Communications and Production teams.
  • Develop relationships with business partners and collaborate across business lines to execute on high-level programs.
  • Supports the development and growth of the bank's brand through all channels, including sales support materials, digital and traditional channels, events, PR and communications.
  • Assists the Marketing Director in the annual marketing initiative planning for assigned business units. Taking lead on coordinating meetings and meeting planning deadlines.
  • Partner with creative agencies and internal creative teams to develop and implement marketing strategies for business partners.
  • Manage campaign execution from start to finish - concept, creative, sales support, scripting, implementation, and training for all major initiatives.
  • Develop short-term and long-term marketing objectives and performance standards (KPIs) for measuring progress and tracking and communicating results, as it applies to marketing initiatives.
  • Provide project management and timely execution of projects of varying scope, size and complexity as related to primary business partners.
  • Implement best practices relating to marketing results tracking, campaign optimization and direct and indirect marketing ROI.
  • Assists with the development and management of the Advertising budget associated with business unit responsibilities.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with designated stakeholders - building and fostering collaborative relations.
  • Ensures compliance with all bank advertising and regulatory guidelines and rules are met that apply to the business unit responsibilities.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, planning and project management skills with the ability to respond well to feedback.
  • Use market research to help craft marketing strategy and determine viable campaign goals.
  • Develop and implement, in partnership with business units, sales strategies that drive results and adhere to KPIs.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or business or related equivalent professional experience, preferably 10 years progressively responsible experience in marketing field.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Communication experience in financial field a plus.
  • Advanced ability to think creatively, strategically, and execute against comprehensive marketing plans that drive the business.
  • Must bring the highest level of integrity, standard of excellence and positive energy.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as partner with others to problem solve and make recommendations to overcome obstacles and issues.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate initiatives to business partners, internal team and support and sales.
  • Strong ability to establish processes and project timelines to ensure delivery of multifaceted marketing and communication tactics and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and influence decision-makers.
  • Open, honest, committed and highly collaborative.
  • Strong management skill set for project management, creative conceptualization and branding.
  • High level of organization skills and experience in coordinating multitask projects, directing resources, etc.
  • Ability to use office automation software.
  • High degree of PC based technical skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products.


Compensation: $85,729 - $128,648

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus plan.
